Get a Little Control in your life. A Tale of Two Japanese Women.™Juveriente's Blog

Updated: Nov 6, 2018

Do you sometimes feel that there are simply too many things to do and not enough hours in the day to do them? On those days an armchair with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine can call to us. We sit down with a magazine to distract ourselves. We forget about everything else; at least for that day. Right?

Perhaps we can learn to change, to start to get some control over our lives; bit by bit.

As we love all things from Japan at Juveriente™ , we are going to take our lead from a couple of inspirational Japanese women. You may have heard of Marie Kondō, the Japanese queen of clean.

Marie Kondo talking about the life-changing magic of tidying up
Marie Kondo

Her book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying is an international bestseller. One of her mantras is “tidy your space, transform your life.” If you are always jamming things into drawers, then Marie’s book is for you. If mess and clutter start to appear a few short hours after your tidying, then I can recommend her book from personal experience. I have often started new things (don’t we all?) and soon get bored: juicing, spinning, zucchini spaghetti … an endless list. But guess what? I finished reading Marie’s book and then followed her advice. It is a quick read and its central message is deeper than it first appears. Hence, the millions of copies sold, I guess. But here is the thing. Reading the book flicked a switch in my head. I followed the advice and sorted out my lovely and [now] tidy apartment, the KonMari way. I learnt that I had to look at and organize everything I had, not just the things that were visible. The habit has so far been kept, and for the last two years my apartment has looked amazing and it is easy to keep organized. YAY!

Marie is an inspirational woman who empowers her readers to change and feel positive about their lives and surroundings. At Juveriente, we think it makes sense to take control of our own health and take preventative action where we can. We also aim to help people feel great. Our range of health supplements support both men and women through life’s changes. The challenge that we all have is unless it is something we can see or feel, we don’t act. For most people, out of sight is out of mind. Just like in my old apartment. Having the apartment looking good at first glance wasn’t enough. In Marie’s method, we need to know what is inside every drawer or cupboard. We can then organize and make our homes function for us.

We should take the same approach to our health. We spend a fortune on our skin. We can see it, so we look after it. Are we doing It correctly and are we spending our money on the right things? Time to bring in our second inspirational woman. Chizu Saekiis an amazing, Japanese skin care expert. Chizu is one of those people that when you watch her and hear her talk, you want her in your life. Take a look at her video here and you’ll see what I mean. She recommends an easy, daily routine and nourishes the skin with creams, masks and oils. She also looks amazing. Chizu advocates using simple creams and wipes. It is getting the right product for the right task and using them correctly, which is the key to success. By using Chizu’s methods, we can get a little bit more control over our skin. Find her book on Amazon.

What can we take away from these two women and their methods? Like Mari, Chizu’s message is simple and straightforward. Take care of yourself and think about why you are doing the things you always have done. If we follow the advice of these women, our homes will be pleasant, calm and organized. Our skin will glow and feel great.

Tidy your apartment, look after your skin. Hardly, innovative? Maybe not. However, these Japanese women explained their methods in their own way and millions of us wanted to follow their advice. We understood that a change was needed in our lives. After taking care of your home and your skin, perhaps you might consider taking a supplement to help with your bones? It’s practical, caring and Japanese, just like Marie and Chizu.
